A Hive of Be's
For a good many years I kept several hives of bees. They are quite fascinating and have absorbed many hours of my time through the years. If you do not want to keep bees, it would be good for you to study them and consider the imparted wisdom that the Lord has given to them. Let me give you some Bible Be's.
I. Be Ye Separate
Read 2 Cor. 6:17. The Bible word for “separate” means “to be marked off from others by boundaries.” God's people are to be distinctive and set apart from others in conduct, in conversation and in concepts (or attitudes). This age seems to be involved in conglomeration rather than separation.
II. Be Ye Kind
Look at Eph. 4:32. We are to be mild and pleasant, which is the opposite of being harsh, sharp or bitter. God's kindness toward us is our example how to be toward one another. Kindness will make you a pleasant person to be around
III. Be Ye Careful For Nothing
Refer to Phil. 4:6. We are not to have the baggage of overanxious care in our lives. It will hinder you in your work for God and can harm your physically. We can cast all of our cares upon Him because He cares for us. According to Luke 8:14 they will choke you.
IV. Be Ye Thankful
Consider Col. 3:15. We are to be mindful and thankful for God's favors. The best attitude to have is gratitude. God smiles upon a grateful soul.
V. Be Ye Holy
Glance at 1 Pet. 1:15-16. We are to recognize ourselves as being set apart for God's own personal use.
VI. Be Ye Patient
Think about James 5:8. As the farmer has to plant the seed and wait for it to sprout, even so should the saints of God be patient. If we endure, we will reap if we faint not.
VII. Be Ye Content
Read Heb. 13:5. Contentment trusts in the providence of God and waits for Him to work in His time and in His way. Lack of contentment can show a lack of faith.
